New engine, new performance
Performance and efficiency are the standout characteristics of the new single-cylinder 500 hpe (High Performance Engine). It boasts an increase in performance of around 14% compared to the previous 500cc, with maximum power of 44.2 CV and, in the three-wheel world, a significant reduction in fuel consumption. The “Ride by Wire” electronic acceleration system optimises engine operation distribution and flow even at low speed by means of changing the engine map with a mere touch of a button on the handlebar. Also new is the transmission cover and the finish of the external crankcase, whose exhaust comes with a new silencer, reducing perceived noise level and optimising timbre.
Safety starts with an “A”
“A” as in ABS. Developed together with Continental, the three-channel ABS offers outstanding active safety levels, avoiding wheel blocking during braking manoeuvres and ensuring you have control in any situation. The two large 13-inch front wheels also contribute to the exceptional safety and improved road surface absorption capacity.
“A” also as in ASR (Acceleration Slip Regulation) with it easy deactivation function ensuring the rear wheel won’t skid on greasy surfaces such as wet asphalt.
The jewel in the crown of the Piaggio three-wheeler is the front wheel electro-hydraulic articulated quadrilateral suspension tilted blocking system. This enables the bike not only to stay upright when stationary at lights or stop signs, but also makes it easy to push or move it with the engine off. Parking is also a breeze as there is no need to use the kickstand. Think of it like flying – you get around without having to put your feet on the ground.
More than mere style
The front shield, with its totally “now” features, is equipped with a new grill and updated LED indicators, giving it an elegant, contemporary look. Its eye-catching aesthetics are matched by features designed to ensure a supremely comfortable ride, such as the new smoke-grey windshield which is now even sportier and offers greater protection for the driver’s hands. The updated saddle is comfier than ever, with the addition of a small back rest and easy-to-reach hand grip for the passenger. These key details, together with the perfect seat-footwell-handlebar combination, reflect the new Piaggio MP3’s attitude to both touring and daily getting around town and greater metropolitan areas. Elegant, welcoming and practical: the spacious rear top box, available on request, can carry all the “must haves” necessary for even the most demanding journey. The upper shell is painted in the same colour as the scooter and comes with a comfy back rest to ensure the passenger also gets to travel in style and enjoy the view.

Meet Vio, the first TomTom navigator dedicated to scooters, ready to keep you on course. Neatly integrated into the handlebar, it can be charged by means of a removable USB port in the leg shield plate. Vio is the perfect navigator, keeping you constantly and securely connected in style. With its exclusive finishing, the MP3 500 hpe Business stands out for its small, but precious, details such as the protective cover of the new exhaust outlet and matt-grey finishing of the wheel spokes and central tunnel.
