Compact but extremely sensible when it comes to managing space, the Piaggio Medley S 150 ABS is the only scooter in its category able to hold two full-face helmets in its underseat compartment. The seat itself, which is opened by an electric switch, is low and roomy, making it comfortable for driver and passenger alike. Pillion riders will also enjoy the non-slip, fold-away foot peg and grip bar.
The fuel cap is conveniently placed on the central tunnel making refuelling fast and easy. Then, there is also the two-section compartment in the rear shield with a USB socket for on-the-go charging.
The single cylinder which powers the Piaggio Medley S150 ABS delivers 11 kW at 7750 rpm and economic fuel consumption at 46.7 km / litres (WMTC cycle) making it an ideal choice for getting around town. Thanks to its i-get (Italian Green Experience Technology) motor, services are kept to a minimum with oil and filters needing to be changed every 10,000 km.
Silence at the traffic lights
The Start-Stop system used on the Piaggio Medley S 150 ABS brings savings even at the traffic lights as it automatically shuts off the engine when the scooter remains stationary, starting again only when the accelerator is rolled. Its advantages? Enjoyable silence and reduced fuel consumption, especially in the city where you may frequently have to stop at traffic lights and pedestrian crossings.
Both the front and rear parking lights of the Piaggio Medley S 150 ABS are in LED making them highly visible in all light conditions. The instrument cluster is encased in a chrome frame and hosts a trio of analogue elements alongside a multi-function LED panel displaying total and trip odometer, external temperature, service icon, digital clock, battery status and ice warning symbol. To access all this information, you just need to press the Mode button on the electric pad on the right hand side.
A sophisticated choice
Easy, safe, practical and irresistible with its dedicated colour scheme, the Piaggio Medley S 150 ABS is the grittier version of this high wheel scooter. Like its less sporty twin, it runs on a single cylinder i-get (Italian Green Experience Technology) engine, has a steel tube chassis, fork with 33-mm stanchions and twin shock absorbers with adjustable preload with 5 settings.
The Medley S 150 ABS is recognisable by the anthracite grey on details such as the wheel rims, passenger grips and footwell plastic topside, matched with special colour options of red (Rosso Opaco), black (Nero Grafite) and blue (Blue Sport) and the striking black seat and interior.
Equipment is unchanged with emphasis on safety in the form of large-diameter wheels (16” up front and 14” at the rear), disc brakes and dual-channel ABS. Technology isn’t neglected with a Start-Stop system for the motor and an instrument cluster which combines analogue and digital components. Last but not least, there is plenty of storage with two compartments including one under the seat which can hold two full-face helmets.
